2.  Is there an Aunt Eevie in your family?  If so, who is it, and what kind of an impact has she had
     on you?

3.  Do you feel that too many women settle for less than they deserve out of a fear of being alone?
     Explain.

4.  How would you describe true friendship?  Is it possible for two people of the opposite sex to be
friends without being romantically involved?  Why do you feel as you do?

5.  Jaleel obviously had a serious problem.  However, should Paula have stood by his side and tried
to work things out with him?  How do you think you might have handled the situation?

6.  Is humility a quality that can be learned later in life?  Can you think of someone you know who is
truly humble?  What are some of the lessons you have learned from that individual?

7.  Do you feel that there are a few or many men like Brad who exist in the real world?  Explain your
     answer.

9.  Did the story conclude as you thought it would?  If not, how did you expect it to end?  Share your
thoughts regarding what you think will happen in the sequel between Paula and Brad.

In SICKNESS and In HEALTH

"Very enjoyable.  Funny, touching, sad and warm all at the same time but
also has some seriousness to it--medical issues--that also keep it down to
earth and not a rose colored type of look at the world and life."

This sequel to THE BREAKING POINT will take you into the lives of Darryl and Catina Jones.  Now married and expecting their first child, they feel that nothing can destroy the intense love they have for one another.

When Darryl loses both of his legs in a car accident, their lives are suddenly thrown into an emotional whirl.  Feeling like less of a man, he can no longer give his wife the love she needs, craves, and deserves.  But Catina vows to stand by her man even though he is no longer receptive to the love she obviously still has for him.

Darryl finally finds the strength to move on with their lives.  But Catina is now confronted with an obstacle that should be of lesser importance than the one they originally faced.  How can she accept the answer God has given when it is not the one her heart desires?  It will take a great deal of strength, love, and courage for her to accept the things she cannot change.

TIME FOR HOPE
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1.  Hope's anger ran deep because of what her husband and best friend did to her.  Therefore, she
had trust issues with people in general.  Do you think her pain would not have been as great if
her husband had cheated on her with someone she had not been so close to?  Explain.

2.  Hope spent a lot of time working in an effort to provide for her and her children's material needs.
What kind of parent was she in your eyes?

3.  In the beginning, Hope was distant and unfriendly toward Tyla no matter how hard Tyla tried to
befriend her.  Would you have been as patient and persistent as Tyla was?  What scriptures can
you recall that would help you to deal with someone like Hope?

4.  Tyla and Jon had been friends for a long time.  It seemed that their problems didn't begin until
they started dating and quickly got engaged.  Do you think two people who have been lifelong
friends should date each other?  Can they have a successful courtship and marriage?

5.  Tyla had a forgiving spirit.  What do you think made this possible?

6.  Tyla sometimes felt that people did not respect her because of her age.  What was your percep-
     tion of her?

7.  Think about the title of the story--TIME FOR HOPE--and the story itself.  What twofold message
did you see regarding Hope the person and hope as a feeling that most people possess?
